I thank them greatly for their behind the scenes
encouragement and their constant analysis and motivation.
Thank you Marietta, Beth and Gretchen.
The word, 'Moxie', according to Webster's New World College Dictionary, means courage,
pluck, perseverance and guts. It describes me to a "T," how I feel about life, and how I
approach it. And I thank God for every ounce of my moxie. I give thanks to my God everyday
for making this site possible. In Him alone am I satisfied.
My background is print Advertising. I have worked in the field for over 20 years. With a degree
in Journalism from the University of Georgia, I have always been drawn to the visual arts.
Beading has forever been a passion and I decided to take it to the next level by joining those
who take the leap into the world of Internet business. It is now a full time profession for me.
I would like to thank Kirk Kilgore, owner of Bead Me Up in Macon, Georgia. He instilled in
me a great love for the craft. He taught my first beading class and I haven't been the same
since. He has been a great mentor, and my love of beading has grown exponentially since
meeting this this man.
I would also like to express my deepest appreciation and gratitude to my instructor at
the William Holland School of Lapidary Arts in Young Harris, Georgia. I took her design class
when I first decided to turn my passion into a business. Her love of the art was ever
apparent and that gift she bestowed upon me on was and is still priceless. She provided
the water and sunshine to a budding young artist/entrepreneur and I will forever be grateful.
I would not be where I am today without her spirit and encouragement when I was just
beginning this journey I now call Macon Beads by Moxie.
